How to recover Netgear Ac1200/R6100 router’s admin password using the password recovery feature?
Previously enabled password recovery feature on any Netgear router allows the recovery of your admin password in case you changed it from the preset default Netgear router login password to something new and forgotten that prior to Netgear router login through routerlogin.net. It is advised to enable the password recovery feature on your first Netgear router login attempt vai routerlogin.net to change the admin password for your Netgear R6100 router.
If you have not enabled the password recovery feature on your Netgear Ac1200 router and forgot your admin password as well, you will have to perform factory reset of your router to default settings to log into the Netgear router through Default Netgear router login password which is ‘password’ by default.
Step by step guide to recover your Netgear Ac1200 router admin password using the password recovery feature:
- Launch an internet browser from your computer that is connected to your Netgear R6100 router’s wireless network through wired or wireless connection to access the login page of the Netgear R6100 router.
- Type Netgear router login web addresses www.routerlogin.net or www.routerlogin.com into your web browser’s address bar for accessing the Netgear R100 router login page for password recovery.
Note: in case of any issues on Netgear router login page access through routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com, you can also type your Netgear router’s default IP addresses 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
- As the Netgear router Ac1200 router’s login window will display, click on Cancel.
- The Router Password Recovery window will get displayed.
- Enter your Netgear Ac1200 router’s serial number in the required field when prompted.
Note: The serial number of your Netgear routers is usually located on the product’s label, which you can locate mentioned on the back, bottom, or side panel of the router.
- Click on Continue on the Router Password Recovery window.
- You will then be asked to answer security questions for admin password recovery.

- Your admin password for logging into the Netgear Ac1200 router will then be displayed on the screen.
You can then perform Netgear Ac1200 router login through routerlogin.net using the recovered admin password and username.
